Perfect Goldeneye?

Updates on Perfect Dark Arcade reveal the XBLA game will feature a bunch of multiplayer maps and weapons from Rare’s N64 classic.

GoldenEye levels featured in the original Perfect Dark – Facility, Temple and Complex – have made the transition to the XBLA version too as have the unlockable 007 weapons.

Heartening to see that there’ll be plenty of multiplayer content to get our teeth into when the game launches on the Xbox Live Marketplace on March 17th.

Star Wars Force Unleashed DLC

A new single-player level for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace starting February 23rd and takes The Secret Apprentice to Hoth, where the “Infinities” storyline concludes following the Tatooine mission.

This might be worthwhile, on Hoth you’ll face Luke Skywalker himself and will presumably be able to hand the new hope’s ass to him in a tasty lightsaber duel. Mr. Apprentice will also be able to visit several iconic locations seen in The Empire Strikes Back.

The downloadable Hoth level was previously available as part of the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Sith Edition. So those that have the Sith Edition are already familiar

New Trailer for Splinter Cell: Conviction

Ubisoft’s latest Splinter Cell: Conviction trailer looks at the story in a little more detail, but doesn’t spoil anything. You know, other than the fact that Sam is doing missions for information about his daughter’s death and the president is about to get whacked. he usual Saturday night stuff in the Fisher household then.

New Fallout Vegas Details

Bethesda’s own Pete Hines  reveals some new details about the forthcoming game.

  • You play a courier, not a vault dweller, who is shot and left for dead in a shallow grave in the desert. As evidenced in the teaser trailer, a robot digs you out and brings you to a local caregiver who nurses you back to health.
  • Vegas is up and running. Said Hines, “It is not a ghost town. It still exists and thrives. There are casinos, and you can go down onto the Strip. It will have a very different feel from that standpoint.”
  • The game takes place a few years after Fallout 3, but New Vegas is a self-contained story. No characters from Fallout 3 appear, but you will hear a bit about the events that took place in that game.
  • A big part of the story will be finding out who tried to kill you and what they took.
  • New Vegas is similar in size to the DC area in Fallout 3. Said Hines, “It is a massive game world that will take you hundreds of hours to explore every nook and cranny.”

Gaming on the Go, Whoring Even More?

In what has been a long time coming, Microsoft today finally announced Xbox Live support for their upcoming Windows Phone 7 series this coming holiday season… something that was discussed many moons ago. In laymen’s terms… buy a special branded Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series and get achievements on the go.

Microsoft today announced a few features that we can expect from the games hub located on the phone and these include the ability to:

  • Collect Achievements and build your Gamerscore
  • View Xbox LIVE leaderboards
  • See your Xbox LIVE Avatar
  • Access Spotlight feeds, including the latest tips and tricks, game news, updates and more
  • Add Xbox LIVE friends to your friends list while out on the go
  • Turn-based (asynchronous) multiplayer gaming

So if you ever wanted to swap gamertags with that hot bit of stuff at the local bar, you’ll be able to do that this coming holiday season with ease. You know… because that type of stuff happens all the time…

And you thought achievements couldn’t take up that much more of your free time? You thought wrong.

New Skate 3 Pics and Trailer

It’s Skate 3 and EA Black Box is laying on the feel good vibes in Port Carverton after the oppression of Skate 2’s San Vanelona.

This latest batch of shots come with some feel good vibes as each shows a clear blue sky on a beautifully sun-drenched day. Kinda makes you wish Spring was here.

Skate 3 is all about you as a brand, and this is no more evident than in the latest Production Diary from EA Black Box, which details your team and how you’ll ultimately build your identity around them.

Creating a logo is just the beginning and as your skating influence spreads, so will huge advertising billboards and stickers bearing your bespoke logo.

Co-op is in too as well as the ability to import any of your friends’ created skaters as new recruits to your skate team.

The game is out in May.

UFC Undisputed 2010 First Loook

UFC Undisputed 2010

Feb, 06, 2010- If you’re an MMA fan then its a pretty good chance that you have gotten your hands on last years UFC title from THQ. There is also a pretty good chance that you enjoyed the game and what it had to offer! In comes 2010, and behold the new project that looks to be an instant knockout when released in May later this year.

THQ has pulled out all the stops from last year’s title, and hopes to put their boot in the ass of EA’s upcoming MMA title! Gone are the static animations from transition to holds, characters are actually seen to be breathing heavy while jocking for top position, and there are finally cage moves that can now be performed. The animations have been almost quadrupled, clinch animations have been reworked,  front and back submissions doubled, the ability to switch stances, and fighter specific moves and animations. THQ have also added new styles to the mix such as Greco-Roman wrestling, Karate, and Sambo to name a few.

The fans have spoken, and it seems as if THQ has listened. The lackluster career mode is supposed to be upgraded tremendously with a “game tracks you” type of feel attached to it, where it monitors your fight style, career progress, and uniquely translates it into color commentary. They have also added new modes to the game such as, Title Mode, Title Defense Mode, and Tournament mode just to name a couple

It looks like THQ is going to come hard with this years iteration of the MMA fighter. EA will have to bring the noise if they hope to contend with THQ’s monster fighting title.
